Work work work
All work and no play makes Cheshire Wife a dull girl. At the moment the chap that I am working for is in the middle of a five week holiday in sunny Oz, which means that I am working extra days in freezing England. Consequently I am stretched to my limits. Really I could do without this extra work in the run up to Christmas, but this is absolutely the last time that I shall be covering his pre-Christmas holiday. (He goes away every year at this time.) Fortunately or otherwise, we have been lucky with the weather here and have escaped with just one inch of snow, so I can't even take time off work because of the weather. Right now I should be writing my Christmas cards, not this post. Then there are all the other Christmas preparations - making the cake and the pudding, buying the presents, putting up the Christmas tree and the food shopping. I am not sure when it is all going to get done. Christmas will come whether or not I am ready for it and in three weeks time it will all be over.

When you have some time off at Christmas you will be able to have a well - earned rest. Fortunate re snow however
Oh, dear! How utterly dreadful! Real bother.
At least you're making some income, which will help with something, I'm sure. Perhaps a Victorian cottage.
As for Christmas, modify your expectations, and let it be known that you expect others to modify theirs. And tell Mr. CW that HE has to put up the tree, make the pudding, and do the food shopping. Men are actually pretty good at these things, especially with the proper training (and much patience of the part of women). But if a non-hibernating Bear can do these things, why not anyone else?
Good luck, and I hope you do have a grand Christmas.
It will all get done in the nick of time I expect. Have a wonderful Christmas season.
It is a busy time isn't it CW, without the extra pressure. I am fairly organised so far as my Mother will be going into hospital for an operation next week, hopefully home before Christmas. Then it will be down to me for her after care. So I'm just pressing on trying to get ahead! Good luck with all you have to do. A x
mrs nesbitt - I'll need the rest.
Rob - Thank you. Mr CW works too. He will put up the tree but I am afraid that he is not very domesticated.
LLM - I expect that it will all get done. I am just panicking a bit.
SJA - You do have a lot on your plate. I hope that your mother's surgery is a success and that you are both able to enjoy Christmas.
I also seem to be behind with Christmas preparations. It seems easier to blog somehow.
That was very inconsiderate of the working colleague going to Oz for all that time! (I am only jealous!)

It's silly really how much effort we put into Christmas as it's over so quickly, but no doubt we will carry on. ;)
Work does sound grim but as you say Christmas will come and go whatever preparation you make. We are so snowbound that my present buying is limited to the net, but then the postie can't get through. Take it easy, I'm sure you'll have a lovely Christmas and really appreciate the break.
MM - Glad to know that I am not the only one that is behind.
Akelamalu - You are so right!
Jenny - I shall be resorting to the Internet too. I hope that the weather improves for you
I've only just started on Christmas cards and I haven't the faintest clue what to cook for Christmas day, let alone all the rest of it...and I don't have your excuse of overwork, either!
Do hope you get some time to relax before der tag is upon you...
I'd send you a "Beary" special Christmas greeting, but I don't have you e-mail address (at least, I don't think I do).
Wishing you a blessed Christmas and a wonderful 2011.
Just dropping by to wish you a Marry Christmas CW and best wishes for the coming year. A x
Oh, do take some time out for you!!! Just stopping by to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas, dear CW! Love you!! ~Janine xoxo
