The winds of change

This photograph of the neighbour's leafless cherry tree is the fourth photograph from my fourth folder of photographs.

French Fancy has tagged me to post and write about the fourth photograph in my fourth folder. I am afraid that it is nowhere near as attractive a photo, as the one that she posted herself.

I am now, not quite sure why I took this photo, but I do remember that I took it with the intention that it would be viewed along side the photo below left, which is of the same tree taken when the leaves had started to turn but before they had started to drop. The photo of the tree in leaf was taken last Autumn, just one week earlier. In between the two photos we had a couple of very windy days which made all the difference and as usual all of the leaves were blown onto our patio. Likewise in the Spring all of the pink blossom gets blown onto our patio.

Now I need to pass the tag onto four bloggers, who are as follows:

fat frumpy & fifty

strawberry jam anne

I can't wait to see the first signs of spring on the trees, only another couple of months!

I do love to see trees in winter as well as the other seasons. Pretty leaves on it though CW. I have no idea what my photograph may be - I will be having a peek soon and post in a day or two. A x

I love winter, and spring, simply here for me, it's all hot and humid all year round, with lots of rain lately. It's good to have a different season once in a while. I've just been to a Winter, now I'm more than gladly to re-experience the Spring I once had, like 5 years ago? Gosh, it has been that long!

Thanks for sharing with us the nice pictures, especially the cherry blossoms.. I miss those..

I love the silhouettes of trees in winter. Their character really comes out, and I tend to think of them as people!!

Cherry trees are very useful, blossom in spring, fruit in summer and lovely colours in autumn. If you look closely at the buds now, you will see they are just beginning to swell. Spring is on the way!

The autumnal one looks really lovely. The other photo of the tree looks really sad. Isn't it amazing how different the two look?

My what exciting times you must have in Cheshire! Watching cherry trees is a fascinating hobby. Certainly more interesting than watching paint dry.

I don't mean to be rude but I wonder why you keep writing Kirkella as two words. West of Hull, folk always write it as one word these days. Historically was it two separate words?

it's an interesting comparison isn't it? I like to see the same view at different times of the year!

The cherry blossoms are just starting to peek out on our trees in CA. There's always a bit of confusion here sometime mid January, and by Feb. they'll be in full bloom just to be knocked off or refrozen in some freak storm.

Yorkshire Pudding - this post is a bit of fun. How did you guess that my other hobby was watching paint dry.

Kirk Ella can be written as one word or two depending on how the mood takes you. Historically it was two words.

It makes so much more sense this way;-)

That's what I get for trying to shortcut through my google reader!

It reminds me of a poem by Slyvia Plath titled Winter Trees.

Won't be long before a few buds start appearing and the cycle of nature begins all over again.
